This piece of music was recorded in 2023 at the Rockfire Festival in Barre, VT. I have been involved with this festival from its origins. It has evolved a lot over the years, and so have my musical contributions to it. I would say this piece is extremely psychedelic (in the traditional sense) not because we were tripping while playing, but because it was a long journey into the unknown. Perhaps Dionysian would be a better term. We started out with my song called “Let ‘em Sing” and took off from there while people danced around a sacred fire, blew smoke and flame. As The Iron Guild tossed buckets of red-hot molten metal and practiced choreographed Poi to a full-on fireworks display. All during a very blustery and magnificent sunset on the side of a mountain quarry. Jeezum, who needed drugs? Then again, it was probably previous trips that let me appreciate this scene to the utmost. The man on percussion, Steve, summed it up pretty good in a text he sent to me after hearing the recording back"

Whatever the fuck that is. It's just so raw and sophisticated. The listener knows that it is being created in real time. Totally in the moment where we all need to spend more time.”
